I've been neglecting this space for some time now. Part of it is because I've been lazy and just using my Facebook pages to post news, new information, and talk about things in general. THAT'S ALL GOING TO CHANGE IN 2014! Well, we'll see about that, but I wanted to write a blog post today to wrap up the year and kick off the new one :)
It was a great year for the business! We ended up doing 24 weddings, two of which were Associates Packages done by Brandon. In addition, I photographed 66 different families, seniors, business people, and other events. The total number of photographs taken (according to Lightroom statistics) was 63,701!!!
We added the photobooth to our wedding packages and things are running smoothly now after some hiccups getting the software, computer, camera, and printer to all cooperate with each other. I hired a few of my best students to be photobooth attendants and they didn't disappoint. It was no surprise that guests LOVE the photobooth, it was a little surprising at HOW MUCH some guests loved the camera. A note to those going to a wedding in 2014, it is NOT acceptable to get naked in a photobooth. And if you're at one of my weddings, the girls are in high school, sheesh!
The photography packages changed for 2013 and they're changing again. Just tweaking things as always to make sure that couples get what they want and need. The website also changed this past week. My webhost made some significant changes to their structure so I figured it was time to make an update there. I think it's cleaner and easier to use, but there are some things left to be worked out over time. This blog layout may also change in the near future to match my website more.
One day, as I was editing a wedding, I noticed something that I thought others might want to know and Wedding Tip Wednesday was created! I didn't think it would be something that would be continuous, but I got a lot of great feedback on it so I'm going to continue doing them. I've compiled a list of tips to share throughout the year and I'll be posting them on this blog with a link to it on my Facebook pages. It may not be a tip EVERY Wednesday, but there will be something wedding related, so I'm changing it to Wedding Wednesday :)
